Raw & Beyond: Boutenko, Love, Sarno

Victoria Boutenko, Elaina Love, and Chad Sarno’s new book Raw & Beyond suggests steamed veggies rather than excess raw vegan fats because studies show that if eaten in excess omega-6s can cause inflammation and obesity.

A typical raw vegan diet to some may contain large quantities of nuts and seeds most of which are extremely high in omega-6s and low in omega-3s.

Note that flax and walnut have a good proportion of omega-3s and omega-6s however as an adult female 5’4″ tall and 120 pounds I only need three or four tablespoons per day.

Dr. Doug Graham, author of (Ad) 811The 80/10/10 Diet, says while steamed veggies are more healthy than excess raw fats, raw sweet fruits are more healthy than cooked veggies.
