Taurine

Biosynthesis

Taurine is naturally derived from cysteine (found in oats, beans, rice, bananas, etc.) Mammalian taurine synthesis occurs in the pancreas via the cysteine sulfinic acid pathway. In this pathway, cysteine is first oxidized to its sulfinic acid, catalyzed by the enzyme cysteine dioxygenase. Cysteine sulfinic acid, in turn, is decarboxylated by sulfinoalanine decarboxylase to form hypotaurine. Hypotaurine is enzymatically oxidized to yield taurine by hypotaurine dehydrogenase.

Taurine is also produced by the transsulfuration pathway, which converts homocysteine into cystathionine. The cystathionine is then converted to hypotaurine by the sequential action of three enzymes: cystathionine gamma-lyasecysteine dioxygenase, and cysteine sulfinic acid decarboxylase. Hypotaurine is then oxidized to taurine as described above.

Women

It is a woman’s right and power to control her own body and a personal decision whether or not to give birth especially given that rape and sexual assault are often not reported for personal reasons.

The easiest way to be in control of ones body is with nutrition. Eat whole fruits, vegetables, seeds, legumes, and grains for wellness of mind and body, strength, balanced hormones, and a healthy planet.

High dose Vitamin C or fruits and veggies high in Vitamin C every hour for the first 24-48 hours after conception can prevent implantation of fertilized egg into the uterus.

Some activities can put a pregnancy at risk such as vigorous exercise, water skiing, jacuzzi, or use of a water slide.

It’s estimated that half of pregnancies end in natural spontaneous abortion when the woman’s body determines that the embryo is not viable due to timing of fertilization and deterioration of egg or sperm. If menstruation is late and flow is heavy it may be a natural spontaneous abortion.

A service dog can help with stress and bring protection, joy, and love. Yoga and self defense classes can help too.

Practice self care, be strong and well, stand for the human right to healthcare, and know that you have super power

Free Healthcare

Wellness with lifestyle and nutrition is basically free to many people because healthy lifestyle and plant-based nutrition creates wellness and prevents or reverses health challenges. However unhealthy nutrition and lifestyle creates chronic health challenges. The current popular expensive high fat animal protein fad diet is linked to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and kidney disease. Human beings are designed to live on fruits, vegetables, seeds, sprouted grains and legumes. Also Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and liability is available on most auto insurance and most homes and public places have liability insurance in case of accidental injury and there are crowd-source funding and personal injury litigation options.

Line Dance

I took a line dance class for the first time in many years at the nearby church while caring for my Mom in Florida. The teacher and classmates were very friendly. I didn’t catch her name but will add it later. The moves felt familiar and it always feels good to move my body. :)

NYC

I stayed at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott in New York City as a Personal Care Attendant for a local quadriplegic family friend on his business trip. He drove us in his van and I brought a lot of fruit since I didn’t know if I’d be able to get to a grocery store in NYC. I helped him mornings and evenings and had the afternoons free. On the first day of spring, March 20, 2012, I took the subway and stopped at Quintessence before I met Noel Vegan Fitness Star near the George Washington Bridge in Upper Manhattan. We did some yoga and Noel showed me some fitness exercises. The next day I met a friend for lunch and we walked around Manhattan. The day after I walked around Brooklyn and took photos including the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, a fruit stand, and some art. You can see Noel Vegan Fitness Star at facebook.com/VeganLight and his blog at getfitordietrying1.blogspot.com.

Winter Raw Vegan Style :)

I have been living in Massachusetts (USA) my whole life, all raw since 1999, and vegan since 1990. This is how I stay warm during a cold New England winter as a low fat raw vegan. I wear cotton socks, fleece socks, ankle warmers, boots, sweatpants, t-shirt, turtleneck, sweater, hat, mittens, and coat. I curl up with flannel sheets, blanket, comforter, afghan, and my adorable snugly cat while sleeping. When it’s below freezing outside I sometimes use an electric mattress warmer. To seal my pores and keep body heat in, I rub a little coconut oil on my skin. To moisturize drier winter air and help hold heat in the room, I sometimes use a hot steam vaporizer. I sunbathe my face for warmth and vitamin D. Activities warm me up like shoveling snow, house-work, yoga, fitness, and dance. I designed my home with many windows on the south side which produces ten free degrees of passive solar heat on sunny days. I use oil filled electric radiant heaters and will learn how to build solar electric panels and a wind mill. I drink fruit-smoothies and eat warmed low fat raw vegan soup, warm low fat raw vegan raisin oatmeal, lots of raw fruits (bananas, dates, mangoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, wild apples, wild black cherries, etc.), some herbal tea, a little fatty raw vegan food (avocado, seeds, tree-nuts), a little warming raw-foods (cayenne pepper, ginger, garlic), and some mineral rich foods (celery, lettuce, kale).
