Walk

I took a “Body Works” class at the club house of my Mom’s condo in Florida while there to care for her. We used a “Walk Away Pounds” DVD and walked two miles in thirty minutes while also leg-lifting, squatting, and working our arms. It was fun.

Line Dance

I took a line dance class for the first time in many years at the nearby church while caring for my Mom in Florida. The teacher and classmates were very friendly. I didn’t catch her name but will add it later. The moves felt familiar and it always feels good to move my body. :)

Back Injury

While trying to lift a very heavy object, I heard a loud “pop” in my back, felt pain, and yelled, “Ow, ow, ow!” My neighbors who are chiropractors heard me yell and ran over to my aid within seconds! They examined me and gave me advice for treatment and stretching exercise. I have been using a ThermiPAQ Clay Therapy Hot/Cold Pain Relief Wrap, a Mueller Sport Care Adjustable Back Brace, breathing exercises, stretching, yoga child-pose and twists, eating lots of raw spinach for healing alkalinity as recommended by David Wolfe in The Sunfood Diet Success System and have improved quickly. My friend and personal trainer, Pete Cerqua, said it’s a hyper-extension injury and told me an exercise to do and my friend/personal trainer, Noel Vegan Fitness Star, had given me exercises. I am blessed and very thankful for all the help and quick recovery! :)

Feet become dance-floor burners under tutelage of experienced instructors during classes in styles such as ballroom, salsa, or swing. Teaching hips to swivel to new circumferences, dance instructors impart their masterful ballroom moves unto students in the respected tradition Arthur Murray has upheld since 1912. Students can bring a partner to each of their three lessons, or fly solo and dance with the instructor, embodying a greater understanding of the dance style of their choosing with either method. Protégés may find their new moves applicable in a number of settings, such as taking your first Zumba class, when prepping for a wedding dance, or blending into an airport crowd that breaks out in a cha-cha. Embodying the elegant techniques of ballroom basics brings partners in close, and salsa moves or club-swing steps add vibrancy and playfulness to one’s repertoire.

Winter Raw Vegan Style :)

I have been living in Massachusetts (USA) my whole life, all raw since 1999, and vegan since 1990. This is how I stay warm during a cold New England winter as a low fat raw vegan. I wear cotton socks, fleece socks, ankle warmers, boots, sweatpants, t-shirt, turtleneck, sweater, hat, mittens, and coat. I curl up with flannel sheets, blanket, comforter, afghan, and my adorable snugly cat while sleeping. When it’s below freezing outside I sometimes use an electric mattress warmer. To seal my pores and keep body heat in, I rub a little coconut oil on my skin. To moisturize drier winter air and help hold heat in the room, I sometimes use a hot steam vaporizer. I sunbathe my face for warmth and vitamin D. Activities warm me up like shoveling snow, house-work, yoga, fitness, and dance. I designed my home with many windows on the south side which produces ten free degrees of passive solar heat on sunny days. I use oil filled electric radiant heaters and will learn how to build solar electric panels and a wind mill. I drink fruit-smoothies and eat warmed low fat raw vegan soup, warm low fat raw vegan raisin oatmeal, lots of raw fruits (bananas, dates, mangoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, wild apples, wild black cherries, etc.), some herbal tea, a little fatty raw vegan food (avocado, seeds, tree-nuts), a little warming raw-foods (cayenne pepper, ginger, garlic), and some mineral rich foods (celery, lettuce, kale).
